Is suicide right or wrong?

Claim:

Suicide is clearly wrong. However, God blesses Samson for committing suicide in this passage by answering his prayer for supernatural strength.

Response:

Suicide is wrong, because it is a selfish action. However, Samson’s action was not selfish; it was sacrificial. He didn’t take his life; he gave it for the good of Israel. Likewise, Jesus did not commit suicide; instead, he gave his life for the human race (Jn. 10:11; 15:13; Mk. 10:45).
