Canonicity
Canonicity: Which Books Belong in the Bible?
Canonicity gives a historical defense and analysis of the books that are in the Bible, and it explains why other books were not included. Are you prepared to answer these questions?
  • Why are the Apocrypha in some Bibles, but not in others?
  • Why did church fathers like Augustine accept the Apocrypha, and why does the Septuagint include it in its translation?
  • Why did it take until AD 367 before we had a complete list of the 27 New Testament books? Does this mean that Christians didn’t know the canon for three centuries?
  • What are the Gnostic Gospels? And why don’t we include these in our Bibles today?
  • Did later church councils make political power plays to accept some books, and reject others?
When was the canon established, who made these decisions, and on what basis? Come ready to explore these questions this new course.

Does God Exist--Advanced
Does God Exist? (Advanced Course)
This course examines three major lines of evidence that have been proposed in support of the existence of God:
  1. The Cosmological Argument – An exploration of the question of the universe’s origin and the reasoning behind the claim that a cause or creator best explains its existence.
  2. The Fine-Tuning Argument – A study of the precise physical laws, constants, and initial conditions that make life possible, and the debate over whether this fine-tuning is best explained by chance, necessity, or design.
  3. The Origin of Life – An analysis of the remarkable complexity and informational content of even the simplest living cells, and what this may suggest about the presence of an intelligent designer.

Through this series of lectures, students will engage with the evidence both for and against these arguments, gaining the tools to thoughtfully articulate the case for a Creator and to respond effectively to common objections.
Inspiration and Inerrancy
