Why does God tell him to eat this scroll?

Ezekiel was asked to eat God’s Word, so that he could “digest” what God was going to do. He needed to reflect on God’s Word before he was qualified to go preach. Likewise, the apostle John was also called to do the same thing in Revelation 10:9-11. The same exact language is used.
