This course examines three major lines of evidence that have been proposed in support of the existence of God:
- The Cosmological Argument – An exploration of the question of the universe’s origin and the reasoning behind the claim that a cause or creator best explains its existence.
- The Fine-Tuning Argument – A study of the precise physical laws, constants, and initial conditions that make life possible, and the debate over whether this fine-tuning is best explained by chance, necessity, or design.
- The Origin of Life – An analysis of the remarkable complexity and informational content of even the simplest living cells, and what this may suggest about the presence of an intelligent designer.
Through this series of lectures, students will engage with the evidence both for and against these arguments, gaining the tools to thoughtfully articulate the case for a Creator and to respond effectively to common objections.
